Bouncing around town with Pearachute (and a new discount code)!

Disclosure: As a Pearachute ambassador I receive- among other things- comped classes, but all thoughts, opinions, and beautifully tired children are entirely my own. (Make sure to scroll to the bottom for a crazy-awesome discount code!)

I’ll admit it: between Easter travels and Spring Break non-travels, I haven’t been the greatest Pearachute sharer in the world.

That changes now.

I joked to Erica, V.P. of membership, that our Pearachute account is the 6th family member. (You know, the one who watches the children, teaches them martial arts and hand-stitching, and enriches their brains while their Mama’s leaks out of her ears? That family member.)

Here’s where we played this month:

Open Jump at Pump It Up– Perfect playdate idea: Take a few 2 year-olds, guide them into a padded bounce zone, sit off to the side with your coffee, and have actual grownup conversation with your friends. This is brilliance.

Kid City– Holy moly, if you guys haven’t seen this West Loop gem, you’ve got to try it. Multiple (clean clean clean) rooms, complimentary coffee, thoughtfully curated play zones, a superbly friendly staff…a new favorite. (FYI- to anyone concerned- my second child does not usually strip next-to-naked to play dress-up; she was merely overjoyed at all of the ball gown options. We’ve had a little chat.)

Little Beans, Bucktown– I’m pretty sure we’ll have to start paying rent at this glorious play place. (Worth. It.)

Weekday Crafternoon at Wishcraft Workshop– Aside from the snuggly corner of her bed, this might be Nora’s favorite location to just exist, you know? This place- and this terrific staff- are so good for her artistic, gentle, occasionally silly soul.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Andre Maneco– Speaking of happy places for one’s soul, this one might be Susannah’s. If you had told me that world champion MMA fighters would be patiently tying my four year-old’s gi while she (kinda patiently) waited for her turn to throw someone to the ground…I would’ve told you that sounds about right.

suzy jiu-jitsu

Little Beans, Evanston– It’s a second location, so it counts as a different activity, right? This even sunnier locale is Jasper’s favorite place to alternate between attempting to bring a baby stroller up a slide and sitting firmly on my lap. (It’s good to know your children.)

Superhero Training at POW– This absolutely adorable, super energetic class is terrific. Or would be, if I hadn’t completely disregarded the fact that it occurs just after rush hour, down by UIC. But even with a lack of parking (and being about ten minutes late for a 45 minute class), Suzy really, really wants to go again. (And the staff is just awesome.)

Story Art at Wonderland Preschool-focused and imagination-heavy, Suzy and Jasper really dug this one. Jasper wasn’t too sure about the “drop off” aspect of it at first…but once he heard that they were reading We’re Going On A Bear Hunt (his absolute fave) and doing corresponding crafts and activities? Golden.

HeART Yoga at Gather, Evanston– Lookie me, hanging out in Evanston all the time! This studio is marvelous. Yoga, meditation, peaceful crafts…and the fact that the girls dropped in on “rainbow” day? I mean come on. (Nora told them she’d be back tomorrow.)

And later this week? More arts, more crafts, more play time, and so much more burnin’ off the pre-dinner energy.

Oh, Pearachute. You just get me.
