Loving on LEGO with Netflix & the #StreamTeam.

This month, Netflix wants to know how you LEGO! Join me, willya? (As a member of the Stream Team, I post monthly about the best of the streaming best, but all thoughts, opinions, and superhero LEGO love are entirely my own.)

**

Are you a LEGO person?

(As in, have you built with them/surrounded yourself by them/stepped on them on the way to the bathroom at 2am and thought maybe- just maybe- this would be how it ended for you?)

Me too.

And now I have two new LEGO converts in my household. Some of you know them as Nora and Suzy.

Oh, sure, all three of my kiddos have long adored the blocktacular wonders and built rainbow-layered cities with military precision (proving, yet again, that more than just eye color is passed onto our children), but in terms of devotee status? That’s recent. For Suzy, that took building up her LEGO Friends birthday party while watching Netflix’s LEGO Friends build up their self-esteem, basketball skills and, well, friendships.

Suzy is crazy for the quintet of friends- Andrea, Emma, Mia, Olivia and Stephanie- and their various adventures. (My favorite plot line? When one gal briefly debated holding back on her archery and sprinting prowess so that her guy pal didn’t feel badly about himself but then was all like that is crazy I’m an incredible athlete and, oh, look, I totally just saved the day by being awesome and not dimming my light or hiding it under a bushel yay feminism!)

And did I mention how cute the birthday party kit is, what with the string of LEGO lights and all? Totally cute.

Also on our list: LEGO: Bionicle (Nora just tore through the creation of her Bionicle dude with military precision and lightning speed- he now has a finished place of honor beside her porcelain dolls and glittery butterflies), LEGO: DC Comics(!!!), LEGO: City and, obvie, LEGO: Elves. Elves, people.

Bet you didn’t even know there were so many rad ways to love on LEGO now. (Says the girl who was beyond stoked when she received the LEGO platform car in 1988 that, you know, acted like a motor when you rolled the wheels backwards.)

Share your favorite LEGO-tastic memories with me, friends! And- just a li’l pro tip- you’ll receive zero judgement if you power through the LEGO: DC Comics (Batman Beleaguered!!) sans children.

At least from me.
