Good news: We made it out East, safe n’ sound. (Were you holding your breath? I hope not, because we traveled on Friday. Ouch.)
Long story short (as Nora has recently/bizarrely begun to say), the 15 hour drive actually went pretty smoothly. This was thanks to my big sis’ New England efficiency, my love of driving to oddball NPR podcasts, my kids’ ability to sit in one seat (kinda) for the entirety of their waking hours and a portion of their sleeping ones), a gigantic cooler of Middle Eastern food (purchased from my favorite bakery the night before the drive).
Some things to note: Kate has learned that it’s a terrible idea to casually mention a new Loch Ness Monster theory (especially during hour 10 of the drive), I’ve discovered that Kate has a low tolerance for people she has determined are “lying” on the radio, and we’ve all come to realize that no one should ever allow Jasper to have five spinach pies in one sitting.
And cosmically speaking, perhaps I’ve recently received a sign that I should take the next week and a half off from blogging; I left my camera HD card widget (yes, it’s a technical term) back in Chicago. Whoops. So pals, I’ll see you soon, okay? (If you desperately miss my witticisms/photos of my children, hop on over to Instagram, like me on Facebook, and follow on Twitter.)
Other than that, I’m totally off the grid.
