Disclaimer: I’ve been compensated by the March of Dimes to promote their #imbornto campaign, which celebrates all of the amazing things each and every baby is born to do. Visit the March of Dimes #imbornto site for more info! Even though content is sponsored, I wholly agree with the wonderful work the MoD does with pre and postnatal care, and all thoughts, opinions, and newborn envy are strictly my own.

I’m a lucky person. I was chosen as one of the 39 MoD Squad blog ambassadors to work with The Motherhood (representing the 39 weeks of a healthy pregnancy!) and even got to host a March of Dimes party- complete with giveaways from terrific sponsors and partners. And while many of my bloggy compatriots have held their parties at parks or family-friendly venues…I decided to make mine a Mom-happy, Mom-heavy kind of evening.
We focused on wine and left the kids at home. I regret nothing.
Basically, I gathered up a handful of the friends whom I always tell P.J. I want to see and with whom I’d like to converse- without smallish people attempting to hem our pants or poke things into our noses. There were apps, there were viewing sessions of our favorite YouTube viral videos, and there were enough bottles of wine that we each could’ve double-fisted a Riesling. (We didn’t, Mom.)
And in between that and the raffling of prizes, I told my pals about my favorite March of Dimes factoids: they began under FDR in ’38 with the mission to eradicate childhood polio, they’re the ones responsible for the popularity of prenatal vitamins and Apgar scores and- with very few exceptions- each and every one of us is considered a March of Dimes baby, one who’s benefited from their wonderful work.
As for those prizes? Our friends at Mudpie sent eight pairs of unfairly adorable socks to taunt my maternal instincts- er, to decorate the piggy toes of friends’ kids with reindeer faces, cowboy boots, and ruffly pom poms. (Maurya won the girliest pairs of the bunch, while Trish took home the downright masculine set.)
Kmart shared some superbly sweet special edition 2015 March of Dimes puppy ornaments: Angie took one home and Trish, cleaning up with the prizes, took home the other.
And then came the twosome of prizes which caused a little bit of “I want that- no, no, I’m really happy for you” tension: the two Alex & Ani bracelets, the ones created specifically for this campaign. One featured a blue enamel stork and the other a pink enamel stork and I wanted both of them but I am a fair and honest blogger so I will do without thankyouverymuch. Megan was stoked to win the blue one, because she has a little boy. (We reminded her that she also has three little girls, but we’re not sure if she heard us on that part.) Barbara- who shot the majority of these great pix- took home the pink adorableness, which is good; to the best of our knowledge, she has three little girls.
Want to get in one the charity fun by shopping with any of these partners throughout the Mother’s and Father’s Day seasons?
Head to Mudpie and they’ll donate $2 for every Bella Bar, Mom Bar, and Mommy and Me jewelry item purchased for Mother’s Day. For each adorable pair of socks, they’ll donate a dime. (Get it?)
For each puppy pair ornament sold, Kmart will donate a dollar to the March of Dimes. So if you’re needing your “puppies in sweaters” fix, there’s literally never been a better time.
And if your friends won’t share/you’re needing to buy your own Alex & Ani limited edition bracelet, 20% of each Special Delivery bangle will go to this wonderful charity.
(Happy Mother’s Day, friends.)
