September is scooting right along! And I’ve had to pee since August!
Here’s some stuff I wrote when I wasn’t shuttling my children around like a one-woman Greyhound bus:
- I am an autumnal failure. Here’s why, via my 101.9FM Moms in the Mix column.
- Over at Chicago Parent, I wrote the most important thing for my kid to read ever, ever. (Until she hits another milestone and I subsequently fall apart even more.)
- Did you happen to see the project I did which nearly broke P.J.’s face, what with his forced smile and all?
- I am so grateful. But you’ll never see it on Facebook, ain’t no how.
- The girls started swim lessons. And they’re already better than I am. (Thank God.)
- The Chicago Tribune has an article about 50 things to do this fall with your kids. Oh, and I helped write it.
And here’s some more stuff you need to know about, Chicagoland:
A festival! In fact, one of the absolute last ones of the “summer.” (Hush up, it’s still summer. Ish.) The 10th Annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts is this weekend, Sept. 13-14, featuring over 150 juried artisans (and every kind of gorgeous art you can think of), plus tons of stuff to do with the kiddos. Did I mention the food and wine booths? And live music? You should go. (Bonus, the 5 buck entry fee enters you into a raffle to win round-trip tickets to anywhere serviced by Southwest Airlines.) Oh my word, go. More deets here.
Oh wow, lookit that! I’m a featured performer/speaker/something or other at this awesome upcoming event. Ever wondered what I’d look like at a TED talk? But smaller? And slightly more local? With zero microphones taped to my head? Then you should come see this.
Back to shuttling.
Which is totally the name of my upcoming book of essays.
Which I’ll never ever have time to write.
