Here’s one of my ultimate favorite things about Netflix: they let you revisit your completely awesome TV memories (and then conveniently pause…and then conveniently re-watch at 2am…and then conveniently get a snack and continue watching in your kitchen…)
And let’s be honest. I attended Bayside High. I was no stranger to the Keaton family. And I bet you didn’t know that Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys had a wicked helpful fourth member of the team. (And no, it wasn’t Bess or George.)

Heck, let’s go even farther back. I cannot tell you how flipping fun it’s been (especially for me) to drag my kids to Berryland. Care-A-Lot. That ol’ street named Sesame. And when I saw that one of the featured shows for April was the original Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, I downright snorted. Because Susannah has taken up residence in the Hundred Acre Wood for nearly a year now.
We kept this retro love fest going strong ’round here by recreating one of the best childhood crafts there is: Shrinky Dinks. (Pro trip- everyone in the world enjoys making Shrinky Dinks. Everyone.) Check out the complete tutorial here…and you can even add your own spin on it like we did! Did you know that you can make your own Shrinky Dink “paper” out of #6 recycleable plastics? (Think coffee lids, salad bar containers, etc., etc. But trust me: it’s gotta be #6. Or it’ll be Melt City; Population The Entire Fire Department At Your House.)
We Sharpie’d the heck outta some lids.
And then we color-penciled them nearly to death.
Chopped ’em.
Baked ’em.
And had them battle before their inevitable naptime in a dollhouse.
Which preeeeeeeetty much sums up my entire childhood.
