Remember to remember this one.

Every now and again I have a moment of clarity. “Remember this,” I tell myself. And when it’s unaccompanied by pangs of guilt or failure over moments that I’ve already forgotten to remember, that’s when I’m inspired to write it down. So I’m writing it down. I rocked Jasper to half-sleep just now, right before his midday nap. And instead of letting my mind wander towards things I need to do, things I need to want to do, or any {Read More}

My Mom is here and I’ve been banished.

Guys, I’d love to stay and chat, but my Mom’s in town. Like, staying at my house, cooking my meals, folding my laundry, kicking me out of my own kitchen in town. So far, we’ve: …Asked the man at the meat counter how to cook a certain item- except in my atrocious Spanish I definitely asked him how to “kitchen” it. (He didn’t know.) …Drank bourbon. (Last night, people, last night.) …Fell asleep in front of Antiques Roadshow. (P.J. was {Read More}

Savers, #thriftortreat & the cutest costumes ever.

Disclaimer: Thanks to Savers, I got to go play at my favorite thrift store for an afternoon. Although I’ve been compensated for my post, all thoughts, opinions, and incredible costume stylings are entirely my own. *** It’s no secret that I love thrift shops. And- like I’ve gushed before– I love Savers thrift shops. (If you ask me whether it’s because they work with nonprofits, recycle unsold clothing (or donate them to developing countries!) …or if it’s because their stock {Read More}

If you give a Mom a messy spice cabinet.

I was trapped in the kitchen yesterday. All day. And I pretty much loved it. I’d like to say I have no idea how it happened, except I totally do; I was looking for garam masala spice and I noticed that my spice cabinet was out of sorts. Frankly, it was a bloodbath. Spices jars in the spice carousel were borderline empty, while their multiple (multiple!!) refill jars lay sideways towards the back. Smallish piles of salt abounded on both {Read More}

A shorter post. You’re welcome.

I spent the better part of this morning scrolling through old blog posts. That is to say, of the amount of time I had with my computer after kids were fed and generally acknowledged was spent scrolling through old blog posts. That is to say, roughly fourteen minutes. Two things were similarly evident in posts from ’08 and ’09: First, I was a wordy mo’ fo’. (1500 words? Sit down.) Secondly, I have always been this charmingly neurotic. So. Since I {Read More}

3 Styles with Riders by Lee- and an obligatory butt shot.

Disclaimer: I was given product by Riders by Lee in exchange for promoting the #RidersStyleChallenge, but all thoughts, opinions, and enviable footwear are entirely my own.  *** Guys, this is gonna come as a shock… But people do not, as a rule, ask me to model things. I KNOW! Thankfully, the good people at Riders by Lee didn’t know of this restriction and asked me to me to style a pair of Heavenly Touch leggings three different ways. (I need {Read More}

Hiding under a towel, stepping away from the glue stick.

I had a Charlie Brown moment yesterday. Specifically, I had a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown moment as I stepped out of the shower yesterday. (Stay with me, here.) Only a week in, October has felt like a sprint. A sprint that I so wanted to enjoy and excel at, but one which left me feeling a little, well, winded. So when I grabbed a towel to dry my hair and the barrage of thoughts raced through my head (articles left {Read More}

Wednesday Roundup: Dance, play, watch, and create.

Apparently I’m bringing back the round-up: (Apparently there’s way too much to do in this town.) Guys- you’re not too late! Take your littles to (our favorite place) Pickle’s Playroom to see (our favorite peeps) The Play Cafè join in on the interactive Radio Party! This super-duper music and storytelling duo of Linda and Brad (which you might remember from oh- lemme see- Monday’s birthday spectacular) brings the fun, the laughs, the dancin,’ and ohmyGAWD the subsequent naps. Cost for the performance {Read More}
